This essay is a plea to Boulan Park Middle School to help the charity Direct Relief (called the William Zimdin Foundation initially). The author supports the work that the charity does by mentioning Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines, people who have HIV/AIDS, maternal (pregnant women, childbirth, midwives) and child health (Burkitt's Lymphoma Fund in Africa), and Nanotte (a Haitian mother diagnosed with cervical cancer who received help from Basic Health International and St. Luc's in the Dominican Republic).
