Grief is a keen mental suffering or distress due to affliction or loss Grief is also an emotion that affects all mankind Sophocles a Greek dramatist as he said the greatest griefs are those we cause ourselves Putting off asking a girl to the prom will result in calamity Jonathan wants to go to the prom with this girl named Kelly but he also wants to play the field to see if he can get any better girls to go with him Prom night is nearing and John still does not have a date He then asks Kelly and she is taken Jonathan cannot get a date so he has a decision to make for himself John can either go to the prom by himself and be the pariah of the prom or he could not go and regret it for all time Either way John will miss out Procrastination can ruin a students grades and cause failure By doing assignments last minute a student rushes and emphasizes on efficiency and not quality Therefore the student will not get a good grade and the repetition of this cycle will inevitably cause failure By not visiting their elders many teens lose out on a great relationship Many teens have better places to be than with their grandparents Eventually these older people will pass on and the young men and women will realize too late that they lost out on an opportunity to connect with the men and women of the past A bereavement self-inflicted is the most awful of all A loss of a partner an education and a relationship are examples of self-inflicted grief Many more examples may have been chosen but the ones that were chosen relate to the average person
