Shamans are believed to have the ability to come out of their bodies and travel to the spiritual world of their ancestors In this world they are capable of utilizing the powers of the spirits to perform spells that affect the human world The spiritual world is what controls life and its occurrences The shaman derives his powers directly from the supernatural such as gods demons and ancestral spirits However the ability to obtain these powers are not possible by any person and this is why they are such important people in their village With these powers they are able to see what the gods are brewing and what evil is affecting their village With this they are able to cure those afflicted and also find out the person or spiritshaman behind the illness They then in turn retaliate and seek vengeance by going to the culpable persons village and causing harm They travel to these places spiritually and with this respond to what has occurred The success of their sent messagespell depends on the outcome For instance when the shaman in Magical Death went to a neighboring village to devour the souls of children and one of the kids died soon thereafter the shaman sent that village a message that they were powerful and were responding to the wrong committed against their village The fact that a child did die proves that the shaman is indeed a force to be reckoned with Now the shaman in that village will use his power to find out who was behind the death of the child and respond in either an apologetic or vengeful manner It depends on whether or not the death was justified As it is known a person cannot die from these circumstances The probable cause of death was probably due to natural causes such as an illness or an accident To the villagers the illness andor accident was due to the shamans
