Eng103 DD 1March2001 Thesis Question How did the interpretation of Ms Mallard relate to the meaning of The Story of an Hour Thesis The interpretation shows the reactions of Ms Mallard during the hour of this dramatic news Uncontrolled Situations In The Story of an Hour Ms Mallard is face with news that she has no control over She was face with the news that her husband whom she had loved was killed in a train accident It was said that she had had heart problems causing the news to be somewhat relieving yet heart-breaking When the news was first broke to her she could do nothing but weep She knew that she would spend the rest of her life alone with no companion She quickly wanders to her room wanting to get away from everyone She was severely depressed at this moment caught up in severe mental anguish She leaves for her room to be alone Jackson 2 Then she is trapped in a stage of stillness where she does nothing but gaze out the window She lays motionless except for a few sniffles of the nose from crying At the point she was pressed down by physical exhaustion that haunted her body and seemed to reach into her soul311 This heart-wrenching news must be taking something away from her Next she sees something afloat The patches of blue sky here and there showing through the clouds311 Ms Mallard interpreting these patches to be a sign of something that was coming to her from this She did not know what this was but she began to feel optimistic like she was under the impression that she would soon be reunited with her husband She was giving herself to this possession as if telling God to take her now She says Free free free 311 followed by a vacant stare in her eyes She now knows at
