The car ride to the cabin was long as usual I enjoyed the time with my grandfather though His eyes were like a hawk he would see everything We would drive by fields of snow Back by the tree line I wouldnt see anything but he would pull over and check out the wildlife with his binoculars Then after he pointed them out to me I would realize what I missed We arrived at the cabin This cabin was built like a house but entirely of logs A wood stove heated the cabin The stove gave an older look and feel to the place The cabin had a porch that wrapped around the front and side It gave me a sense of living without technology As we moved all our hunting gear and clothes from the car to the cabin it began to snow It was early November so the snow was expected There was about three to four inches of snow on the ground already and the fresh snow made it good for tracking deer We went inside the cabin and met up with everybody staying there for the night We all played poker and I came out the loser because I didnt have any idea what I was doing After we ate dinner I relaxed for a while Before we went to bed I went outside and it was still snowing but the snow was more then snow It was like crystals glowing in the moonlight It continued snowing harder and harder as I went to bed The next morning I woke to the ringing of the alarm clock It was five am and I didnt want to get out of bed but the excitement of the hours ahead gave way and I was up We all got dressed in our thermal clothing and then put on extra clothes for warmth We put on our green and brown camouflage and
