1INTRODUCTION GREETING Good morningafternoon class Im SSG Hamm TYPE AND CLASSIFICATION of BRIEFING This is an Unclassified Information Briefing PURPOSE AND SCOPE We as leaders need to ensure that that our soldiers are aware of the Armys policy on extremist organizations and activities The purpose of my briefing is to ensure that you have a clear understanding on the Armys views as well as the prohibited actions OUTLINE OR PROCEDURE We are going to discuss the definition of extremist organizations and activities and the prohibited actions as well as what articles of the UCMJ pertain to them 2BODY Participation in extremist organizations and activities by Army personnel is inconsistent with the responsibilities of military service It violates the Armys EO policy It also disrupts cohesion and morale in units All military personnel must reject participation in extremist organizations as well as activities Extremists organizations and activities are ones that advocate racial gender or ethnic hatred intolerance advocate create or engage in illegal discrimination based on race color gender religion or national origin or advocate the use of force or violence or unlawful means to deprive individuals of their rights under the United States Constitution or the laws of the United States Here are actions that support extremist activities that soldiers are prohibited from following 1Participating in public demonstrations 2Attending a meeting or activity with the knowledge that the meeting or activity involves an extremist cause when on duty when in uniform 3Fund raising activities 4Recruiting or training members 5Creating organizing or taking a visible leadership role is such an organization or activity 6Distributing literature on or off a military installation that pertains to extremist cause
