The Ethics of Living Jim Crow is about the life of a black man during the period of the Jim Crow laws It talks about his childhood It tells of a child trying to be a child but being separated from the white children The white childrens yard was green with grass and bushes while the blacks yards were covered with cinders It then tells about his first job in an optical company He suffered many setbacks working for this company he was a good worker He was not allowed to learn anything He was expected to just do his job and keep to himself It also tells of his job working at a clothing store Where he watched his bosses beat up a black lady for being late on her bills It finally discussed his overall work experiences The theme of this article is the effect of the Jim Crow laws on blacks in the south This article related to todays society very well Blacks still have some problems assimilating into the population Death of a Teenager Widens a Racial Rift between two Towns tells the story of a young boy that had everything going for him until the day of his untimely death It talks about all the possible scenarios that could have happened It gives the background of the two towns that are separated by more than just a river The differences are huge between these to towns Their incomes differentiate greatly The theme of this article tells the differences in two similar towns It tells of the mystery surrounding the young mans death This article related to todays society very well Blacks are discriminated against still They also still experience threats on their lives and are sometimes killed Then Came the War tells the story of a Japanese American living near the Pacific Ocean It tells of the problems that he had trying to obtain a regular job
