Literature is an art piece that has the exact same potential as all art pieces The potential of an art piece is limitless as it intrigues a reader to continue reading In a captivating text that captures our attention its the little things that make a text outstanding as it is believed to be so All these little things include character development personal experiences and an emotion evoking reaction It can come in many forms and appeal to you in different ways A text would be considered an exceptional text when any of the three are mentioned above which are used in writing to grasp the interest of the reader along with creating evoking emotions Some kind of connection should be made between the reader and the texts but if no personal connection or emotion is conjured throughout the reading one may not have any interest in it When asked how I can interpret my journey with literatureliteracy the first thing I think about is how literature is simply an art piece Literature is an art piece attempting to bring order out of chaos and this idea will be explored and answered through various text comparisons Novels and pieces of writing will evidently demonstrate that chaos is merely order waiting to be deciphered The Dress Lodger is about a 14 year-old teenage mother named Gaustine striving for the survival of herself and her 3 month old child with a major heart problem This young female is a potter by day and a prostitute by night who is faced with a series of unfortunate events which further complicates her life Another novel this idea is explored in is The Vampire Armand which is a novel about a bisexual teen named Armand Throughout the story Armand is faced with numerous difficulties and confusion about his own identity and slowly realizes he found pleasure in both homosexual and straight relationships He eventually finds the love of his
