One of my all-time favorite movies The Color Purple is a fantastic example of overcoming hard times to live a better life Being a movie that builds mixed emotions such as suspense fearfulness sadness and even laughter it can also build a persons spirit by showing the brighter side of every situation The movie is a visual image that many people can relate their lives to by giving them some type ofinspiration The clothing of this film takes the concept of the movie into full effect and provides a realistic vision of the lifestyle of which the movie was set The dialogue the scenes and the plot are what make this movie great creating a great combination of the three when working together Playing major roles by bringing the plot to life the dialogue and the scenes set a unique tone and style while also capturing the true idea of what is being viewed The film is based in the early 1900s where blacks are still considered the inferior race and young girls were not safe from sexual abuse Beginning with the early childhood of Celie Harris a young black female who was sexually abused by her father in which she had two children and lost the ability to do so as well The abuse creates a sad and depressing scene and presents itself as a realistic view of what living in the 1900s was like and what the young women were struggling with After her father forcefully married her to a local farmer Celie then took the role of an abused housewife who had to serve her husband on given command Her biggest inspiration was her loving sister Nettie Together they shared laughter and what seemed was the rest of her childhood experience Providing a heartwarming feeling the scene leads the audience to believe that everything is going to work out just fine for
