We all know the Girl on Fire Katniss from the first book The Hunger Games In the second book of the hunger Games trilogy Catching Fire the thrill continues as Katniss is forced to compete in the Hunger Games but this time its a little different instead of having new tributes all the past hunger games victors are put to compete and fight to the deathFrom the first book we know that Katniss buys a small mockingjay pin that she gives to her sister for her protection Her sister gives it back to her to have for her protection when Katniss volunteers to compete in the hunger games for her In Catching Fire Katniss explains My bird has been replicated on belt buckles embroidered into silk lapels even tattooed in intimate places Everyone wants to wear the winners token Katniss still has the mockinjay pin with her but since her victory of the 74th annual Hunger Games the mockingjay has become huge hit with everyone --which upsets President Snow very much since It seems as if the mockingjay has become way more than just a mockingjay In the first book both Katniss and Peeta were going to eat the berries and kill themselves without having to harm each other and give the capitol what they wanted one victor This gesture was a sign of rebellion and Neither President Snow or the capitol was too happy about it The mockingjay is a continued symbol of this rebellion against the capitol and it has also taken on a deeper meaning for the other districts During the Pre Hunger Games ceremony Katniss comes out on stage with the wedding dress that Cinna designed for her When she spins the whole dress starts to flame and as she keeps spinning it transforms into a dress that resembles a mockingjay Katniss describes how A shadow of recognition flickers across Caesars face and I can tell he knows that the
