Bob's feedback:
"This essay is well-focused. Zeroing in on the "ripple effect" of characters' decisions is a strong choice that allows the essay to flow well. All of the supporting paragraphs give good examples of the ripple effect discussed in your thesis statement. Be aware of changes in tense. Typically, events in a novel are discussed in the present tense. Watch out for sentence fragments as well (for example: "From jail time to the end of someone's life."). Also, be careful when switching focus to different subjects. One paragraph begins with a discussion of Silas and Sienna, then abruptly switches focus to Silas without explaining who this new focus is (simply using the word "he"). Overall, this is a strong paper."
