This article was pretty interesting the way it started out kind of had me doubting it would keep my interest too much because of the information it was giving us it seemed kind of basic and just your everyday article on an artifact that had been dug up and your typical viewpoint of how civilizations use to live with your males hunting and females tending to the children and the boring lifestyle Then it started talking about these new ideas of how the people actually lived and challenged all the information we thought we knew In the article New Women of the Ice Age I felt that Pringle did an awesome job capturing these archaeologists theorys of what they believed everyday life was like in a band of humans surviving the Ice AgeI think when anyone would try to imagine what it would have been like to live in a tribe all those years ago during the Ice Age they would imagine the males going out and hunting for food and dragging their dinner back to the women and children at camp being the one who is depended on for survival and almost having this barbaric nature about them While the female stays at camp and tends to the children and prepares the food for everyone to eat Wrong I think when living in the Ice Age it would have been extremely difficult and to survive it would have taken everyones help to stay alive and thats what this article helps you to imagine Everyone pulling their own weight and the woman and children out there helping capture food and collect everything needed for survival Something I never really thought about was how they could have survived off just meat I think everyone knows that you need a balance of all types of foods to stay healthy So how do they survive when everything is covered in ice and there is no vegetation growing
