Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is a disorder that affects large number of peopleADH according to studies have shown that boys are three times as likely to develop this disorderBoys scientific believe are generally more prone to disorders of the nervous systems Although the the onset can vary specific behaviors that are typical of ADHD usually arise between the ages of three and five Studies estimate that between 2 and 95 percent of people worldwide of school age children have ADHD Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder does not discriminate Researchers have identified this disorder in every nation and in every culture This disorder was once thought that children would out grow it Researcher from the 1970s show that about two thirds of 158 children with ADHD still showed tyoical patterns behaviors well into their twienties Reasercher also show that those in the studies who no longer fit the description were having adjustment problems at work school or social gatherings Psychiatrists since the early 1940s have put several different labels on those whom are afflicted with Attention-Deficit Some of these labels are as follows minimal brain dysfunction brain injured child syndrome hyperkinectic reaction of childhood hyperactive child syndrome and of course the mordern day label attention-deficit disorder these different labels show how researchers scientists and even psychiatrist are baffled with the causes and the specific criteria for the diagnosis of this disorder Attention-deficit Hyperactivity Disorder has two sets of symptoms The two symptoms include inattention and a combination of hyperactivity and impulsive behaviors Although children are naturally more active and impulsive than adults children with ADHD show these symptoms significally greater than other children This causes big problems Children are not able to learn as much because of the inability to have an appropriate attention span It also causes problems because these children become too bossy when playing with other child with ADHA finds himself or herself playing alone They become isolated from other kids Although no one knows
