I think that Babylon Revisited is a good title for this story because it follows the same story-line of the Babylon building in the Bible The story in the Bible is about people trying to build a tower to go on forever and it ultimately led to mass destruction They strived for total perfection in what they were building and it resulted in the total opposite The title is also appropriate because Charlie had this great image of the town he left When he returned to the town it was not as he remembered The town became dead and lifeless The bars he had champagne dinners and long luncheons that began at two and ended in a blurred and vague twilight were empty The town he had so much fun and enjoyment was no longer there Charles family had everything They had money cars whatever they could possibly want Suddenly his wife dies from an illness and he is partially blamed by family friends and relatives His daughter Honoria is given to his wifes sister because she didnt think that he could care enough for her because at the time he was struggling with alcoholism and was found to be very neglectful Several years later he meets up with the family that has been taking care of his daughter and he asks if he can have her back to come and live with him He explains that hes changed his ways and that he only takes one drink a day to deal with his old drinking problem He is not as wealthy as he used to be but he has more than enough to take care of and support his daughter They agree to think about it because they can see that he has changed his ways but in the end he does not end up getting his daughter because of all the mistakes hes made in the past This story relates to the one
