Who is your idol Are they famous What are they famous for Why do you love them Do you feel like you have something in common with them Do you have some of the same quirks Do you like the same restaurant Do you feel like you know them almost as if you are friends If you answered yes to these questions particularly the last one you may have a mental illness This mental illness could be severely andor negatively impacting your life Celebrity worship can be traced back as far as the ancient Greeks They created gods that were human or had human-like characteristics These gods also were involved in drama and had flaws In these days their celebrities were the rich and royal A woman named Madame Tussaud opened up a wax museum The people were obsessed with pleasing them or being just like them Mell This shows that no matter how far people look back the mostly unhealthy pattern of celebrity worship will show up There is a name for the worlds fascination with celebrities- Celebrity Worship Syndrome or CWS The name is pretty straight forward There are three identified stages Stage 1 Entertainment Social This is what every person who has a favorite celebrity has It just means that they enjoy a celebrity and like to talk about them amongst their friends Stage 2 Intense Personal This is where a person could have a little more than a crush They could believe that the celebrity is their soul mate Gray Finally Stage 3 Borderline Pathological This is full on stalker This could mean a person would watch their every move they consume their every thought they would break the law if the person asked them to or even as far as killing them out of love As stated before most people have stage 1 of CWS That is perfectly normal Whats not normal is when it takes
