The purpose of this lab was to find the density of different objects byfinding their mass and volumes I believe that if the mass increasesthen the density will increase To investigate this hypothesis my groupused a triple beam balance a graduated cylinder and a We hadfive samples These included aluminum lead copper tin and zinc Webegan by testing the mass of the samples using a triple beam balanceNext to get the volumes we had to get the height and the radius ofeach sample The final densities are found by dividing the masses andthe volumes In this experiment our independent variable was the typeof each sample and our dependent variable was the calculated densities The first sample aluminum had a mass of 2829 g a volume of 105 cmand a density of 275 Dcal The second sample which was lead had amass of 2879 g a volume of 268 cm and a density of 111 Dcal Forour third sample we used copper The mass of the copper was 2893 gThe volume was 354 cm and the density was 817 Dcal In the fourthsample tin the mass was 2899 g the volume was 415 cm and thedensity was 699 Dcal For our final sample we calculated 2901 g forthe mass 443 cm for the volume and 655 Dcal for the density
