In the story Toward an Aesthetic of Popular Music I thought the question regarding for all people the most significant pop songs are those they heard as adolescents Frith qtd in Kennedy Kennedy was a great subject In the following paragraphs I will explain which songs are most memorable to me memories they triggerAs I was growing up in Manchester CT my brother and me use to listen to my Dads music either at home or on the road The one song that strikes me the most is Billy the Kid by Billy Dean Billy is short for William William being my brothers name My dad and me use to call him Billy which at the time he enjoyed to be called until he got around 10-years old he wanted to be called Will Weve spent a lot of time together growing up and it brought us together more as a familyAnother song that brings back memories is Centerfield by John Fogerty Baseball has been a significant sport to my family and me We spent summers playing baseball at local parks and watching the Red Sox together Till this day my brother and me play catch when we go camping or on other trips My dad and me still are heavy into watching the Red Sox throughout the seasonIn conclusion I believe these songs have shaped my life into the man I am today Recent music hasnt changed me much like the music when I was a kid These two songs bring back deep-rooted childhood memories of my family and me
