How did the colonists justify their protests and ultimate rebellion What sources did they call upon What philosophies were influential How was the language of freedom and liberty usedDuring revolution the king of England used the colonies as economic tools He had a huge tax on them and made sure they had a restricted trading partnership in order for the British to make an enormous profit The people in the colonies thought that these actions were a huge violation on their rights mainly because they are not represented in the government system Parliament The fight that was fought against writs of assistance and Boston in 1761 was led by Otis The Writs were search warrants allowing agents to search homes for any evidence of smuggling However Patrick Henry was among the first colonists to call for establishment of an army to fight the British Even though his thinking and reading were not very good he still was one of the colonist most effective trial lawyers In 1773 the government passed a law that angered the colonists to protest about the wrong doings The colonists justified their protests and ultimate rebellion because they think that their actions were fair England treated the colonists like they werent British citizens The constantly kept adding extra tax and acts to keep gaining profits from the colonists But the colonists believed that any extra tax or act that is forced upon them that was not forced amongst British colonists was unfair Meanwhile due to the unfairness treatment by the British they rebelled
