While reading Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer I learned of a group of mountain climbers called Sherpas As I learned in the true story the Sherpas go up and down the mountains quite often with tourist and serious climbers alike but do these heroes or the train really know what they are doing as well as Krakauer thinks Do they ever have troubles when in a group of just themselves Do they ever die on the slopes without an inexperienced climber contributing to the accident In an effort to find information about Sherpas I went to dogpliecom that gave me many more links than I ever thought possible From my simple search I decided to only look at sights I considered reliable so I first looked at a PBS sight if PBS is untrustworthy the world is in really bad shape From the PBS link I stumbled on to a NOVA online report about Sherpas on Everest I got s much information off of this one sight I didnt really have to look on another but to appease my curiosity to I decided it was best to get more than one source of information to make sure of its accuracy so I returned to my grand dogpilecom search Once again I was blessed with a great sight My new source held much of the same type of information as the NOVA sight Thinkquestcom is this sights name It is a library of many different reliable sources of information and has my recommendation to any student or even teacher looking for anything On these two sights I found a large array of information about Sherpas From the combination of the amazing information found on the two separate sights I discovered that the Sherpas originate in eastern Tibet They crossed the Nangpa La pass at 19100 ft about five centuries Then they settled in the Khumbu region the gateway to Mt Everest from the southern
