Hobbes and Locke were one of the greatest philosophers of all time They made people think about the whole world in very different ways and question things about the world we live in For example are we all actually free How much power does the government actually have Are we all at war with each other Even though most people didnt agree with Hobbs and Lockes views they had to admit that these two people have great minds I was very interested and intrigued when I was learning about these great minds and hopefully I can make you feel that way after you read my paper In the first part of my paper I will be informing you about Feudalism what units Hobbs and Locke RightsLiberty equality and constant legitimate authority In the second half of my essay I will be informing you about how powerful the government actually is how much do we actually have to Obey how much freedom we have and what to do when an individual retains the right to either disobey existing government power or remain free of government control Both John Locke and Thomas Hobbs were against feudalism They both believed in the Classical Liberal tradition and Feudalism was the opposite of that Feudalism stated that people are naturally unequal While on the other hand both Locke and Hobbs agreed that individuals by nature are equal For example Hobbs stated that Nature hath made man so equal in the faculties of body and mind as that though there be found one man sometimes manifestly stronger in body or of the quicker of mind than another yet when all is reckoned together the difference between man and man is not so considerable as that one man can thereupon claim to himself any benefit to which another may not pretend as well as he And also Locke who stated that A state of equality wherein all the
