There are many ways to tell if a person that we are communicating with online is actually who they say they are Today in our society anyone can be fooled into thinking they have met the love of their life through the internet but havent even met in person The internet has given people the opportunity to create fake profiles on chatting websites such as Facebook MySpace Instagram and plenty more It is easy for anyone to create a fake profile because when creating a profile there arent any security questions asked in order to verify if the person is real For instance when first accepting a friend request whether its on Facebook or any other dating website the profile picture is very important If the picture looks too good to be true then it most likely is According to Epidemiology of Divorce A good photo or a touched up one may not be a negative sign but it could be that theyve simple scoured Google for an attractive photo thinking nobody would ever find out One way to figure out if the picture was in fact copied and paste is to copy the picture and place it into Google then see if the picture comes up under a different name If the profile doesnt have a picture at all then its also possible that the profile is not realAsking someone for their address can also be helpful An address history is a starting point that sketches in a persons background by checking if they live were they say they do 2Another way to confirm someones identity is by asking to have a video chat with them that is nearly impossible to fake a conversation with audio and visual 3 Technology has changed so much over the years that cellphones and computers now have cameras There should be no excuse for not wanting to have a video chat Not even the excuse
