The word inspiration can be defined and interpreted in many ways To me inspiration is simply someone who I can look up to and a great role model for others It is about the process of establishing an idea in someone to motivate him or her to do something Many people show acts of kindness simply by the kindness within them and do not realize the inspiration provided to others around them The person in todays world that inspired me the most is Craig Kielburger who at the age of 12 made the seemingly impossible happen and is still an active member of the world today One morning in 1995 12 year old boy Craig Kielburger was looking for the comic section in the newspaper a news article on the front paper captured his attention It read Battled child labour boy 12 murdered The article was written about Iqbal Masih a young boy who was sold into child labour at the age of four He managed to escape and become an international activist but he was murdered because of this reason at the age of 12 Craig was astonished by the thought that a young boy on the other side of the world was killed because he wanted to speak up against child labour He brought the article to school and gather 11 of his friends to continue Iqbals war against child labour Together they started the organization called Free The Children Although he was told countless times that children could not make a difference he never gave up on his passion Today Free The Children is a global movement and the largest network of children helping children It is empowered by over one million shamelessly idealistic youth who are passionate about changing the world The inspiration Craig Kielburger had given is enormous I was an average student who was not involved with anything until I heard about Craigs story His movement motivated me to
