Dozens of people anxiously sat in the waiting room Small-sided conversations were drowned out by a television in the corner of the room broadcasting the bombings in Syria Fear eagerness and concern were written all over the faces of the people inside Most of the people were sitting accompanied by assumedly a relative or family member however in one corner a young woman sat alone restless and apprehensive She sat upright with absurdly perfect posture clutching her belongings in her lap Just a few seats over an older man sat slouched over with his elbow resting on the armrest and his fist holding his head up The man expressed a comfortable and calm vibe that contrasted heavily with the ambiance of the rest of the room First seconds then minutes then hours slipped away and the waiting room became progressively emptier with each passing hour As time went on the lady became increasingly uneasy She was trembling shaking her restless feet and her head was constantly scanning the room which made her nervousness incredibly obvious Curious as to why the man sitting next to her seemed so calm and nonchalant she initiated small talk in hopes of eventually discovering why he was acting like he was in the waiting to be seated at a restaurant instead of sitting in a hospital waiting roomCatherine This stuff happening in Syria is so terrible she saidMan Yeah it is It really is he agreed Life can be so tragic sometimes Catherine Unfortunately she sighedA moment of silence awkwardly entered the conversation before the lady trying to keep the conversation alive to make waiting more bearable utteredCatherine So if you dont mind me asking what brings you here today she questionedMan Oh my mother is having brain surgery to remove a cancerous tumor that reappeared Catherine Im so sorry that is horrible cancer is such an evil thingMan Yeah this is
