Creative Writing Fighting Depression with LiteratureI was woken up by the sound of raindrops falling on the metal window seal outside my window The loud thumping was accompanied by the sound of timid wind blowing through the trees I could feel the gray of the morning creep into my room as my little sister opened the blinds I was reluctant to open my eyes I sat there and listened to the sounds around me The sound of my sisters tiered feet shuffling across the carpet the neighbors turning on their televisions and the faint sound of cars in a distance One of my cats jumped on the bed and cried in my ear It begged me to wake up and give her its food I turned over in an attempt to ignore the cat but she continued to walk all over me I realized that it was time to start the day but I was still unable to open my eyes I knew the second I did all my worries would creep their way into my thoughts Thats when I realized that today was going to be my live deliberately day I wouldnt let those thoughts consume me today I would keep this good morning and treasure the world around me I stretched my arms out as far as they could go One hung off the side of the bed and the other reached out to the other side I opened my eyes and looked out the window A grey morning just what I expected Cold and rainy mornings are my favorite type it was perfect for my assignment I looked around the room and paid attention to what surrounded me A warm crumpled duvet rested upon me and my clothing from the day before layer on the floor My eyes reverted back to the window and then they crept down to the stretched out arm that laid across the bed I looked at
