Full House is a television show that is the typical American family minus the mother It is a sitcom television series that is set in San Francisco The show is about the widowed father Danny Tanner who after his wife Pam dies has his best friend Joey Gladstone and his brother-in-law Jesse Katsopolis raise his three daughters DJ Stephanie and Michelle The Tanner family is for the most part your average middle upper class white family from the late 1980s to early 1990s The children DJ Stephanie and Michelle were always dressed in the best way possible The older children DJ and Stephanie shared a room but Michelle had her own room Both Joey and Jesse had their own room and Danny had his own room Their house was large and their furniture was perfect Gary Soto in Looking for Work mentions white kids hurry though the day making friends returning home to a warmly lit living room and then dinner Soto 29 which is exactly what happens at the Tanner household The family has dinner together each night after Danny came home from work and the children finished their homework Having discussion of what their day was like and what they had learned at school Gary mentions that his dinner discussions were nothing like the families on television but more like loud with belly laughs and marked by our pointing forks at one another Soto 29 The difference between the Tanner family on Full House and Gary Sotos family were much different but Gary much wanted dinner and a family like the Tanners The Tanner family had values and never showed a care to the world They never seemed to be stressed about money or thinking about where their next meal would come from According to Gary Soto white kids on television were shown as having a comfortable life
