Sometimes people ask if there is something like perfect All everyone wants is to live in a community or society where there is no violence or any form of vandalism It is believed that little acts of violence generate into deviant behavior in the society So what one may ask is what deviance is or what is a deviate behavior Deviant behavior is any behavior that is contrary to the dominant norms of society There are many different theories on what causes a person to perform deviant behavior including biological explanations psychological explanations and sociological explanations Another intriguing case study I came across and I found very interesting is the topics about deviance Fortunately I came by a journal which was written by Walter D Connor called The manufacture of Deviance This case study was done in Soviet Purge in 1936-1938 In this journal he paid much attention to what caused people to be deviant And so of the questions he asked himself or wondered about was could our environment cause us to be deviant Or there could be something in born in us that cause people to be deviant And another point is he wondered if the society or people around individual can cause them to be deviant At a point in time during which this research was made people had different believes to which could be cause deviant behaviors in people such of which was attributed to witchcraft Sometimes people believe hanging round with deviant people can make a person deviant and o Mr Walter took time to study all the possible causes of deviant behavior in individuals and how deviant behaviors where tried to be stopped Through his research he tried to group deviant behaviors into three types of deviant characteristics in the community According to him the volume of deviant behavior in the community and how it is handle show how deviant the society is in a whole He
