As a parent it is imperative to think about everything yourchild sees throughout their life Every environment they areexposed to every teacher theyemulate Our parents did the samewith us they made sure we had the best influences in our livesuntil they could no longer control it Whether or not you are aparent you can understand that environment is critical to achilds development If we think about what kind of schools wehave been to does it make you want a better learningenvironment for your children or future children It does forme There are generally two different branches of schools whichbasically follow the same guidelines withintheir communitiesThere are Secular or public schools which aregovernment-funded schools open to the public for free A greatidea on paper but most people who have been in the publicschool system know it is chaos The next type of school is aprivate institution religiously affiliated in most cases Thistype tends to be much smaller because of the cost to go therethey are not government funded I will discuss three very basicareas where these two learning environments differ and why apublicor private institution may be right for you or yourchildOne of the first things you notice when first going to a newschool is the size Class size is very important For a publicschool the classes tend to be very big in numbers and not veryinterpersonal In a public high school most likely the studentswill all be talking or not paying attention The teacher willprobably continue teaching because with the amount of studentsin the class they are uncontrollable In a public college Theclassroom tends to look more like a stadium with cascadingrows of seats and a professor far away having to use a mic togive his or her lectures It is usually harder for a student toask the professor questions or get help in a subject becausehe or she is often busy with the number of people they have toteach The average public high school
