Drinking to the good bad and indifferent My fondest memories are held in a place most only dream of having a chance to visit In a place where culture is a way of life Where morals are held over anything and were loyalty is still held sacred An island with a population of 124961000 Japan was the place I called home for two years In this time my maturity went from a boy to a man and my person was shaped During my time in Japan I made unforgettable memories and friends To me life is nothing but memories good bad or indifferent I appreciate all experiences in my life for they have made me the person I am today A person I am very content to be My memories started in a liquid of feelings Feelings of mixed emotions which came with its consumption Pain happiness sadness and most importantly bonding All this in a 700ml glass bottle which served as my most valued possession This bottle which I have full of the same kind of liquid it contained when my 3 best friends and I sat to drink it It was a ritual to us every Wednesday and often other days of the week to hang out and finish a bottle It always began with everyone coming over after my father left for his Wednesday bowling which lasted late into the night My buddies would come over by the bus which ran around the air force base we stayed on We would set up by sitting in our spots I was sitting on the edge of the bed Matt was on the beanbag Clyde was on my rocking chair and Sam always wanted to sit on the floor With our glasses in hand we would begin normally Matt was the one to bring the bottle He would pull it out of his black book bag which he held as sacred as I hold
