Equity pedagogy is a dynamic instructional process that not only focuses on the identification and use of effective instructional techniques and methods but also on the context in which they are used Equity pedagogy challenges teachers to use teaching strategies that facilitate the learning process Equity pedagogy and prejudice reduction focuses on providing equal learning opportunities to all students regardless of their individual and cultural differences Diversity of gender skin color sex language religious and social class in addition to individual skill level all can allow discrimination However the goal is to reduce the pre-judgments and provide equal learning and teaching opportunities In order to summarize this topic four articles have been reviewed First article titled Disability as Cultural difference Implications for Social Education written by Dimitris Anastasiou and James MKauffman analysiss how to deal with disability using theorists of Social model and minority group model of disability- this article had been choose because of the fact that studenst with disabilities do not recive equal learning opportunities in school Dimitris Anastasiou James MKauffman 2012 p 139The main idea is to make a point that disability is not a product of bodily pathology but of specific social and economic structure that exclude impaired people from full participation in mainstream social activities In such theorizing about disability as a form of social oppression people with disabilities are viewed as the collective victims of an uncaring and antagonistic capitalistic society Dimitris Anastasiou James MKauffman 2012 p 139 Article suggested do not looking at people with limited performance skills as disables instead they should classify as smaller social group and be identify by their abilities based on their skill of performance in social activities Second reviewed article called Gender Inequalities in Education focuses on empirical research and theoretical perspectives on gender inequalities in educational performance and attainment from early childhood to young adulthood According authors research indicates that gender inequality affects education
