Often I see myself thinking about what my perspectives are through my eyes whether in myself or in others Sean Coveys The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens explains that a paradigm is the way you see something 13 and after pondering the thought of what is helping or hindering 13 me my personal paradigms my perspective on others and my paradigm of life have held me down with pessimism and confusionA personal paradigm that I hold is that I would judge myself and question who I am along with my actions I would give all of the hard work and effort I can to get to my goals but I would feel as though Im not trying hard enough or Im doing something wrong I would cause myself doubt that leads me to wonder about my actions I strive to be the best that I can but sometimes I wonder if I strive for illusionary perfection I think to myself Are the things that I choose enough to get me to where I need to be Am I really trying to extend my reach of achievement and success Since I was a child my family would ask what I would do when I grow up or what Im going to do as a career As an Asian American I often get wise lectures from my parents that endlessly go on about how I should try my best in school and to stay out of trouble I constantly question what kind of future that I have ahead of me and worry how one mistake could possibly destroy what I worked for All of this doubt that builds up inside of me makes me feel inferior and my thoughts can demoralize me Having a paradigm shift on how I view myself would surely relieve myself of doubt and I can then be satisfied with being who I am without the second thoughts of my actions and
