Nowadays peoples assessment on everything is very self centered towards this world Based on Alien Phenomenology Or What Its Like to Be a Thing Bogost tries to give an idea to people that not everything is created to serve a human He tries to help us understand this philosophy by imagining what would it be like to be an object The author brought up three major key factors to guide us to have a better understanding of alien phenomenology which are metaphorism carpentry and orthography I would like to apply this philosophy about an animal that has been around for 50 million yearsBogost tries to explain flat ontology by saying all things equally exist yet they do not exist equally 11 Existence can have a diversity of meanings In general for an animal existence can be changed experiencing and feeling things Part of this definition can contain common examples such as reproduction and emotion expression which are part of nature for both human and animal Most animals are going trough similar feeling like humans after having a new member in their lives Not being alone at hard times and growing up with something or someone creates trust and familiarity Having something alive next to you since the beginning of your childhood makes you bond with that thing no matter how different they look and how hard it is to communicate with them For the first time I saw something big standing on 2 weird legs who make nonsense noises First it is scary to feel a strange big thing coming closer to me but after a while I know it would be either soft touch or food I start to feel safe around it because I can recognize that big black thing through my smelling sense after a whileHumans and animals feel the same satisfaction emotionally and physically They both can experience trust and love They start to feel safe around each other
