"You do a great job of highlighting different prominent leaders in American history who committed themselves to seeking equality for African Americans. While it is notable that you provide many citations to outside sources throughout your paper, it’s odd that most of your direct quotes don’t feature citations. Such quoted material typically has a citation that includes a specific piece of location information (such as a page number). The title of a book should be italicized, and for MLA style, quotes that extend beyond four lines are usually formatted as block quotations. When a statement ends with a quote, the period is placed before the closing quotation mark. When a statement ends with a parenthetical citation, the period is placed after the citation only, not both before the closing quotation mark and after the citation. Terms such as “conductor” and “apartheid” should not be capitalized when they appear in the middle of a sentence while “Civil War” in reference to the American Civil War should be consistently capitalized. Typos include the appearance of “at” instead of “as” and “s” instead of “a.”"
