Angela's feedback:
"You fully address the prompt by presenting an argumentative paper on a food-related topic, and your body paragraph has many well-researched pieces of information to support your position. However, review is needed for your MLA in-text citations. MLA style emphasizes citing the author(s) of a given work and relevant page numbers for information, not the year of publication. Year of publication is used in APA and Chicago. There are also a number of writing convention errors that should be addressed. Commas come before a closing quotation mark in American English, and the phrase "et al." should not be translated to "and others" in main body text. "Et al." is a Latin term that has been adopted into the English language (especially for academic writing) just like "via" or "ad hoc." Exactly one space should appear between all sentences in the work, and the last sentence in your first paragraph needs special attention."

Essays may be lightly modified for readability or to protect the anonymity of contributors, but we do not edit essay examples prior to publication. (And nope, we don't source our examples from our editing service! Check out our Privacy and Content Sharing policies for more information.)
The essays in our library are intended to serve as content examples to inspire you as you write your own essay. They're not intended to be submitted as your own work, so we don't waste time removing every error. This allows our team to focus on improving the library and adding new essays.
