I have always wondered why I get turned around so easily When I was a young kid we would take trips to my Grandmas house with the family I have been told stories of the car being loaded the kids all buckled in and ready to go starting to drive away from the house getting to the bottom of the hill that I lived on and asking mom how will we know how to get home How do we know how to get to Nanas As a slightly older child my family spent our time together in the woods We would go on backpacking trips and stay out for days at a time I never understood how we always knew how to come out at the same exact spot I understood the point of a map and compass and kind of knew how to use one What I didnt understand is why is still couldnt find my way out I had to rely on my dad or brother getting us home This is something that I have always wanted to learn more about and the short discussion we had in class drove me to do just thatMen really do have a better since of direction it is not just because I am female but because of my genetic makeup as a female that I get lost so easily As stated in the A Brain Divide article our brains are almost fully developed in size by the age of four however it is ever changing the brain continues to develop thought life some of these changes occur because of gender Men tend to have larger overall brains this does not mean that the different structures in the brain are actually larger it just means that they tend to have more neurons in that particular area Men and women use different parts of their brain to complete similar tasks
