I break out in a cold sweat I start pleading to anyone who will listen As thoughts of having an accident ran through my mind the road was wide open I imagine driving in a parade then putting on the breaks at the thought of where my thoughts are taking me My stomach feels strange My palms are clammy I am terrified to drive Despite my fear two summers ago I somehow found myself going to the DMV After eating lunch I wanted to drive to an area where no one could see me I looked over to my mom in disbelief that on this day she would say You are getting your license today My mom kept nagging me about getting my drivers license Frustrated and under pressure I decided to do the drivers test Looking in the backseat my sisters were chuckling and teasing me they said Brittney dont drive into a tree Boy did I want to curl up in a ball and roll away because I didnt want to go into the DMV Here I go heading towards the door to wait in line to start my test Gaining my composure I did not want to hear a word coming from my mom nor my sister While waiting in the room there were a lot of other teens there with their families Looking out the door I could see a girl walking in from taking her test Her mother jumped up surprised and asked her Did you pass your test The daughter looked down in embarrassment and said No My confidence level about the test was shot When my number was finally called the instructor directed me outside Sluggishly I followed behind him waiting for him to get done with the car examination The only thing that was on my mind was getting this test over with and hopefully receiving my license Sitting
