New Line Cinema finally brings the epic adventure of good versus evil The Lord of the Rings the Fellowship of the Ring to cinematic life The story is about a heroic quest set in a time of uncertainty in the land of Middle-earth Not since George Lucas Star Wars have we heard so much buzz in the entertainment world and Peter Jacksons Lord of the Rings promises to be of the same epic proportion if not bigger Everything about the movie is gigantic -- the myth the excitement the stars and the expectations Heres why If youve never read The Lord of the Rings then get cracking and begin with The Hobbit 1936 a fun story that will whet your appetite and invite you to jump into Tolkiens vivid imagination As you can imagine this classical work of art has a deep-rooted following so why did it take so long to finally bring the fairytale to the big screen Believe it or not it was made almost 30 years ago Unfortunately back in the 70s the special effects required to properly illustrate the story were not available and the movie flopped The story is just too grand and too imaginative to be told in one movie In order to accurately bring the movie to life in all its glory the producers had to include every detail of the story This meant that the full epic would have to be illustrated not through one but three movies Thats right the stage for a classic trilogy is set Unfortunately it is not an easy task to plan one movie let alone three Imagine what is involved to successfully film three movies in one shot The trilogy which will take three years to complete is expected to cost 270 million 90 million per movie JRR Tolkien was a professor of medieval English literature at Oxford University in England He originally created The Hobbit as a bedtime story for
