"You provide an interesting discussion of Saint Augustine's focus on his childhood sin of stealing pears from a pear tree. You chose many illustrative quotes to supplement your analysis, and you do a good job of providing citation information for the quoted material. However, when a statement ends with a parenthetical citation, standard practice is to insert a period after the citation itself, not before the closing quotation mark and after the citation. Of your quotes, the one about the attitude Augustine's father had toward his son's education is the weakest because the quoted material doesn't make sense to the reader when it is taken out of context. Adding some more explanatory text would improve your essay by facilitating the reader's understanding of your argument in this regard. There are multiple statements that sound repetitive because you use words such as "confess" or "persuasion" twice in them. Synonyms can be used to address this issue."
