From heated conversations at the dinner table to discussions between coworkers and even the congressional floor gun control has become a debate that is dividing the nation Since Martin Luther King Jr and Robert F Kennedy were assassinated in 1968 to the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary in December of 2012 gun control has been an issue in the United States of America Some people argue that gun control is infringing on their constitutional rights as the second amendment states the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed While others argue that laws should be administered that limit the types of guns that can be purchased and allow for more extensive background checks before obtaining a firearm There is no way for gun control to take away guns from the citizens In the United States there are 300 million privately owned guns Yu 1 In America as of the 2012 census there are 313900000 people living here The ability for anyone to take away guns from the people of this nation is impossible The ratio of guns to people is 910 Yu 1 These numbers eliminate the possibility of a mass gun buyout Yu 1 Since there is no way to guarantee that all people who own guns will freely give them up there will be no way of having a gun buyout No gun buyouts mean that obtaining guns that are already legally owned would be impossible 2Since the second amendment states all that citizens of the United States have the right to bear arms taking away gun rights would be unlawful and it would invade the publics freedom dictated by the Bill of Rights Some people feel so passionately about keeping their gun rights because they feel safer Another topic that comes along with anti-gun control is mental health Americans argue that instead of funding gun control the government should spend
