Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard I did not have the innate talent to succeed like others but I had the ability to work hard to achieve a goal common among humans to be on top At times I would believe my work ethic lacked due to staying up long nights studying scripts analyzing PowerPoints and stressing myself out Thankfully the work I put forth to get to Florida came through but not without some difficulties While in Florida I had the best experiences and vacation of my life I grew in numerous ways among them respectability for my name and my school and a stronger more stable friendship with my teamHaving the feeling of accomplishment is all that a person needs to go far in life That feeling is what swelled in my chest when the announcer called my name for fourth place in individual and fifth place in the nation in group competition Those two moments opened many doors for myself and my team We competed in a countrywide competition called Business Professionals of America where high school and college student compete in countless competitions based over business aspects One of the competitions i competed in with a group was Presentation Management Team Our team had to convince business owners to hire BPA members In my other competition i competed in was Digital media Production were i had to make a three minute video to persuade people to join BPA There were two stages to get to Florida make top three in regionals and make top two in state In my individual competition i placed first in both state and regionals My group got second place in regionals out of sixty five and first in the state of Texas out of three hundred and thirty three teams Every journey has its roadblocks Our district did not support us because they felt that we were not ready to compete on
