While I believe that everyone has the right to adopt they are never certain on the health background of the child like when John Seabrook took those risks when he adopted his daughter Rose from Haitis The orphans in third world countries are normally placed for adoption due to abandonment poverty illness or death of parents However I will be focusing on the health issues Children may have experienced poor prenatal and or postnatal care early neglect and a lack of health care services Children living in third world countries have vary health issues which may include malnutrition scabies lice intestinal parasites minor congenital defects developmental delays tuberculosis hepatitis AB or C and HIVAIDS Children can also be affected by living in orphanages during critical developmental periods andor long periods of timeHere are the top five health problems that are seen in children placed for international adoption The first one is HepatitisHIV normally blood test are ran to determine whether a child has hepatitis or HIV However that doesnt mean that a child wont get exposed after the test is taken The second most common health problem is fetal alcohol spectrum disorder which is normally caused because the birth mother drank alcoholic beverages during the pregnancy Third most common health problem is Reactive attachment disorder this is basically in children that have been abandoned or neglected which makes them feel that they are unable to get close to someone cause of fear The last most common health problem is sensory integration dysfunction having this means that the brain is not able to correctly process information and can cause a child to be hostile and sometimes can cause them to be clumsyAs you can see children available for international adoption may be the victims of a wide variety of potential health problems On the other hand there is always good news to go with the bad Most of the health problems faced by internationally adopted children
