Todd Burpo a Christian pastor is the author of the best-selling non-fiction novel Heaven is for Real The title of this novel can quickly grab ones attention Every person has his or her own idea of what heaven is really like Heaven is usually depicted as a religious cosmological or transcendent place beyond the sky with angels and one or many Gods This title may raise the common question Does heaven really exist This is a question that everyone has asked or thought about during their lifetime and that is why this novel sitting on a shelf would grab ones attention immediately Heaven is for Real is a true story about a family with inconceivable experiences from a small town in Nebraska Todd Burpo is a Christian pastor in the small town in which Todd lives along with his wife daughter and son named Colton The Burpo family within six months has overcome many misfortunes Todd had a cancer scare and many sicknesses himself After the family finally felt healthy again they decided to take a road trip Colton only three years old at the time becomes very ill on the family trip At first his parents think it may just be the stomach flu But after a few days of getting worse and worse the family admits him to the hospital After many tests doctors could not find anything wrong with Colton But his father being a pastor could detect the sickeven deathlylook upon his sons face They transferred Colton to a new hospital to seek better medical attention As Colton becomes worse and even more lifeless the new doctors diagnosed him with a ruptured appendix and communicate that his stomach has been filling up with poison for the past few days The doctors decide to conduct immediate surgery to remove the poison from Colton During Coltons surgery Todd is angry He is angry towards God and finds a room to be
