Bridget's feedback:
"You've done a good job lining up each piece of evidence according to the two sides: killing machine or tragic hero. However, while your decision to open with the counterargument reflects the structure of the prompt, I question its clarity and efficiency, as it asks the reader to absorb a lot of information from the opposing side, raising the stakes of the second half of the essay. Have you tried other organizational approaches to the discussion? Options could include wholesale swapping the first and second halves of the essay or responding immediately and directly to each example of villainy with a discussion of how that particular action reveals something more nuanced, tragic and/or heroic. I favor this latter suggestion because it highlights the internal conflict of the character, but you will want to think about how you understand the themes of the play in making a choice about structure.
After you've focused on the higher-order components of organization and argumentation, make sure to proofread. Errors, including typos and capitalization issues, in this current draft ultimately take the reader's focus away from the ideas and also impact ethos."
