Bridget's feedback:
"This essay is purposeful, focused, and structured logically, moving the reader through the definitions, situation, and the stakes before explaining the proposals and complications. This well-developed logos and ethos gives the reader a solid and well-rounded understanding. A final proofread is one remaining task; your writing is generally clear and sound, but watch out for minor errors (e.g., "EMDC" toward the end) or choices that can be addressed for improved clarity. Do note that your opening sentence is incomplete (due to the first "which"), but more broadly, I wonder if that current first sentence is best to open the essay, especially when you have a compelling quotation that can serve as a hook. Some reorganization at the top might help create a punchier opening--I can see the definition of natural hazard coming later in the paragraph, for example."
