In Canada there is much controversy on the topic of whether or not AIDS victims should be allowed to attend the same schools as people not inffected by the AIDS virus I think Aids victims should be allowed because they are people First of all people with AIDS should have the same rights as anybody else in Canada because they are people as well Keeping AIDS victims away from public schools causes them to not get the same education and opportunities as other people their age Aids victims need a good education just like any other person so they can move on in life and get a job so they can make as much of a normal life as possible for themselves Keeping aids victims away from public schools also restricts them from being in large groups of people their own age so they can make more friends Public schools are a place where anybody is permitted to be including people with diseases Even though it is obvious that AIDS victims have a right to be in a public school some people do not want these people to be allowed in public schools Other students have great fears and concerns of contracting the AIDS virus People fear that being in school with people with AIDS gives them a greater chance of contracting the AIDS virus just by touching a book or a pencil belonging to an AIDS victim or by just being next to them Playing contact sports in schools with AIDS victims causes fear for many people as well because they worry about coming into contact with cuts on a person with AIDS and possibly contracting the virus For example Magic Johnson was a professional basketball player in the NBA and was forced to retire from his career because he had contracted the AIDS virus Obviously because of the discrimination they face everyday of their lives AIDS victims have low self esteem and
