Malaria is a very wide-spread disease and affects a large amount of people both young and old Plans are made and are continuing to be made in eradication of this disease but cultural beliefs traditions and values conflict with these plans currently The current state of politics the economy and human rights factors are making the eradication much more difficult as well The lack of knowledge about the disease and how it can effectively be treated is resulting in more harm than good The most probable solution for eradication of malaria is to inform and educate the residents of sub-Saharan Africa of the measures they can take to get rid of this horrible disease robbing the lives of their loved onesEducation is by far the most culturally acceptable solution for the eradication of malaria through how the disease is contracted the dangers of toxic pesticides and the distribution and use of bed nets Typically residents of sub-Saharan Africa believe that the disease is contracted by witchcraft and spirits Unfortunately this incorrect belief of contraction leads to many unnecessary deaths Disease cannot be successfully prevented without knowing the cause The goal of education in relation to contraction would be to tell residents that the disease is transmitted by mosquitoes It is important to note that people could get seriously offended by saying what they believe is wrong so it must be done with caution Secondly it is a common practice for residents who are aware of the mosquito vector to spray toxic pesticides The toxic pesticide is successful in killing and keeping away mosquitoes but it also leads to many deaths because of poisoning The use of toxic pesticides in the region should be disallowed Lastly the distribution of bed nets and instruction on proper use should be instituted in the sub-Saharan Africa region Bed nets are an effective measure to prevent contraction but if used improperly they are as good as nothing The goal
