When you look at the food you buy from the grocery store do you think of where it comes from Or do you just prepare and eat the food Grocery stores have products that are transported from thousands of miles away until it gets to our plates Since they have to travel such long distances they have to be harvested earlier This means that when the food arrives to its destination it will look ready to eat Having the food being picked earlier than it should be makes thefood lose nutrition Food should be grown the way it used to be locally and organically When food is bought locally it can be picked at the right time because of the shorter distance needed to travel Buying non local food create a huge environmental issue such as unnecessary transportation pollution With non-local food the commercial farms add many chemicals and pesticides to keep the food more fresh and away from bugs Not only is the food added with more chemicals but it also affects the air quality and the water because it leaks through the boxes All the more reason to buy locally For food to be qualified as local the food should not travel more than 100 miles Unfortunately most families cannot afford organic and local foods However the more people buy organic and local foods the higher the demand for it and the prices will go down Overall local and organic foods are much better for the environment and our bodies Hopefully with this project we will be able to promote that local farms should be recognized and we can start a local organic revolutionBuying local in modern agriculture is key to the future of farming If the agriculture industry continues on polluting the environment the world is going to disappear into one big Global Warming mess very soon Experts have been realizing the transportation factor to agriculture is one thing that is
