Sex Marriage and Fairytales is a poem that was written by Jefferson Bethke but he verbally published the poem through a video on YouTube Through the usage of a video to deliver his message he is able to use hand gestures and an emphasis on certain words to show more emotions into the poem as he reads it to his audience Jefferson Bethke is a well-known inditer and a vigorous believer in Christ to many Christians and YouTube viewer for his video Why I Execrate Religion But Love Jesus where he got over 26 million views for verbalizing about the ravagements that religion has engendered and how Jesus is not a component of religion In this poem Bethke talks about how men need to be aware of what is reality and fantasy because it causes a huge distress in a relationship especially in a marriage By using reasonable figurative language through common sense through real world experiences to depict a relationship in distress Bethke attempts to convince his audience to change themselves for the better of their espousementJefferson Bethke paints the issues of relationship in modern time in his poem Sex Marriage and Fairytales through the usage of figurative language such as analogies The first analogy that Bethke make is Marriage seems more like a prison than the paradise they were promised The author expounds that in modern society many people believe that espousement is supposed to be a relationship between two people that consummates their life and will lead them to jubilance but there in authenticity not all espousement turn out this way Bethke explicates that in some espousements they feel like a prison because the spouses are divested of their jubilance and left with solitary and penitence feelings which is why earlier in the poem he verbally expresses just optically canvass the rate of divorces By pointing his audience towards statistics Bethke is showing how overtime society is making marriage more complicated as
