A common belief that has been in existence for some time became a blur to me through my second year in high school I was a cheerleader and a star rookie runner Two passions I cared for deeply and I heard it You have to choose one My coaches were telling me it was too much for my body to handle and not enough time to allow it to rest from two year competitive sports I refused to believe them and so entered the most weary yet rewarding year in my life I have participated in cheerleading since I had learned how to walk Finally at age 12 I was inducted into a nationally ranked team Discipline perfection and teamwork were three qualities that were instilled in me It was my life Then as I entered high school I discovered running It brought felicity and set new goals for me So I joined the cross-country team and worked hard to become the best Juggling the two sports at one time only added strain I was a working time bomb and believed the rest was unnecessary That year I lost 15 pounds weighing in at only 94 Although I finished the year first in the city and ranked fourth in the nation I knew that my body could not take another of constant push Since running was a new experience I decided to give it a chance Two years have gone by and I do not regret having to choose There are no more nights where tears run down my face because of fear that I could not handle it I still push my limits however I have learned how to fulfill my desires and still fell the adrenaline every time I lace up my running shoes and head out the door
