In my neighborhood which Ive lived my whole life there has always been one place where I knew I could go if ever I was sad or lonely Club Chamale a cozy little place now but once was a very active and popular Up till I was about 8 the club came complete with not only one of the most beautiful clear blue pools in Slidell that reaches9 feet which as a child seemed to go on forever with suchdepth that couldnt be reached There was a bar that looked over the pool it stretched a long what we called the front side of the pool where showers and bathrooms lay On the left side of the pool set the tiki bar that came stocked with not only drinks for the parents but sodas for the kids and placed right behind the tike bar was the ever so famous Old Smokey which if there is anything at the club that has stud fast against the test of time its that old rusty grill that always has and may always be behind that tike bar Next to that tiki bar was the first two of four tennis courts The other tennis courts are located on the other side of the club in sides this amazing place that Im speaking of that mostly now only remains in my memory had a game room upstairs a day care center for the little ones racquetball and a weight room Then one morning in 2004 at around 300am it caught fire and Burnt down I remember waking up and looking forward to going swimming that day and my parents telling me I cant because it wasnt there That didnt make any since to me at that time until they drove me to go see what was left of Club Chamale a place I had been going my whole life There wasnt much left and I didnt realize that until they
