Approximately 250 words please tell us about the most personally significant contribution you have made to a community through your participation in one of the activities you listed under Activities and Leadership on this applicationLooking at the clock I realized there was thirty minutes left until homework club was almost over I had to make sure all the kids were staying on task Is it almost time to go home Leslie asked eagerly Shaking my head no Leslie frowned Can I go to the bathroom Lortus asked Allowing her to go Lortus disappeared for quite sometime I asked the other student teacher who volunteered to help me with my Gold Award project for girl scouts to keep an eye on the other children I frantically searched through the school checking every classroom and every bathroom I walked by I went back to the classroom where the other students were and there was Lortus sitting in her seat quietly working on her work At 330 the parents walk in only waving because they dont speak any English Child after child walks out Cleaning up all the trash I noticed one child is left Christian It was 335 and it was almost time for the other high school students and I to go back to school so I called his parents No one picked up Within seconds luckily his parents rushed in apologizing This homework club I created lasted for four months and in the future will become a future program to help other children with their homework I learned a tremendous amount from this program I learned that hard work pays off and I learned that creating a program like this was not easy It took me a year to get prepared before I started this project This club in the long run will help many students succeed academically
